Peter Birks Prizes for Outstanding Legal Scholarship – 2022 Shortlist

The Society of Legal Scholars is delighted to announce the shortlist for the 2022 Peter Birks Prizes for Outstanding Legal Scholarship. Each year the Society offers two prizes for outstanding published books by scholars in their early careers. The 2022 winners will be chosen from the shortlist below:
Dr Beverley Clough, The Spaces of Mental Capacity Law: Moving beyond Binaries (Routledge)
Dr Dominic de Cogan, Tax Law, State-Building and the Constitution (Hart Publishing)
Dr Richard Martin, Policing Human Rights: Law, Narratives and Practice (OUP)
Dr Natasa Mavronicola, Torture, Inhumanity and Degradation under Article 3 of the ECHR: Absolute Rights and Absolute Wrongs (Hart Publishing)
Congratulations to those who have been shortlisted. The judges were privileged to have the opportunity to read these and the other entries. The winners of the prizes will be announced at the Annual Conference Dinner on Wednesday 7th September during the 113th Annual Conference hosted by King’s College London.
