SLS Annual Hale Lecture 2023

The 2023 Society of Legal Scholars Annual Hale Lecture was delivered by the Hon. Mr. Justice Gerard Hogan of the Supreme Court of Ireland on 24 October 2023 on the topic of ‘Grundnormen in UK and Irish Constitutional Law’. The lecture was hosted by Trinity College Dublin and our Irish Convenor, Desmond Ryan, with Baroness Hale of Richmond, SLS President, Paula Giliker, and immediate past president, Lucy Vickers in attendance.
Dr Desmond Ryan, SLS Convenor for Ireland said: “We were honoured that Lady Hale could attend the lecture and we thank Mr Justice Gerard Hogan for delivering a superb lecture. I wish to express thanks to our President Professor Paula Giliker, past-President Professor Lucy Vickers and Dr Mark Coen of the SLS Executive Committee for all their support with the event and for being in attendance in the evening. The lecture had a very large audience including many SLS members as well as members of the legal profession and judiciary and was a most enjoyable occasion.”
